Facilitating the application of cutting-edge genomics, bioinformatics, cell biology, and immunology techniques to nutrition and metabolic research. Services include:

  • Individual assistance, training, and supervision in using specialized techniques and equipment in morphological, immunological, and tissue culture experiments
  • Technical support, expertise, and resources in various cell culture-based techniques
  • Help in designing high-throughput cell-based microscopic assays using automated image acquisition, storage, and analysis

Service Description

Cell Biology and Bioimaging Core 

Semi-automated quantification of insulin-positive B-cells within IHC stained pancreas paraffin sections.  FFPE sections of murine pancreas are stained with anti-insulin antibody and resolved using DAB detection using a Leica BOND IHC platform. Stained sections are then scanned using our Hamamatsu NanoZoomer system and the resulting images analyzed with Visiomorph software to measure total tissue area and insulin-positive area.
